Aurora
Aurora Aksnes is the name of a Norwegian singer and songwriter from Norway. Born in Stavanger on June 15, 1996. She's professionally referred to as Aurora. The name of her can also be described in the form of AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 getting great reviews by music journalists and media. She's recorded a variety of well-known song covers, including Half the World Away (by Oasis) for the Christmas advert. Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano in her loft, and becoming captivated by its music. Parents May-Britt and Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for professional or as a pastime, but rather to gain experience. She started writing her own songs. Her inspirations include famous writer Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan in addition to her affinity with Bjork's style. The singer decided to perform the songs she wrote publicly after her mom suggested it could aid people in to not become famous through the work she does, but to help everyone else realize their importance and the ways they could impact the world. Her first piano lesson was when she was six years old and was writing her first song before she reached nine. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She claims that she simply enjoys writing songs. Music to her is the most effective way to experience any emotion.
